This site is dedicated to my father, Jim Boyce, who was with the State Department in Burma in the 1950's and spoke fluent Burmese. He returned to Burma in 1984 for the first time since the Communists had taken over the country three decades earlier. He passed away in Singapore from illness contracted during that trip before returning to the United States.
